Sennheiser HD 280 Reviews

These are quite old, but, for the sake of archiving, let’s review these so-called “professional” DJ headphones by Sennheiser. First off, these are closed, circumaural, and are designed for monitoring—which means the frequency response should be as flat as possible. It has up to 32 decibels of attenuation, which is part of its selling point [...]

Sennheiser HD 485 Review

The Sennheiser HD 485 belongs to the sub $200-semi-audiophile segment, which means balance between price and performance is key. The greater the sound per dollar invested, the better these cans rank among the competition. Sennheiser earned our respect from the HD 555, at right about the same price as these.
The 485s cover the entire ear [...]

Sennheiser HD457 Review

The Sennheiser HD457 is somewhat an upgraded version of the subject of my last review—the HD 202. The headband is exactly the same, nay the color, and the earcups look like they were conceived from the same mold, except for some grooves on the outside part of the HD457. The foam on the headband and [...]

My Sennheiser HD 202

I once owned a pair of Sennheiser HD 202s. The year was 2006, and I wanted a little extra something for my 24th birthday. I knew I wanted headphones, because at that time my work was already computer-based, and I have already ditched the desktop with a laptop—which meant I had already dropped the idea [...]

Sennheiser HD595 Review

A look back at an all-time favorite
The Sennheiser HD595, as old a model as it may be, is still one of our favorites. Why? Because it’s just so easy to listen to that all that’s left for us is to enjoy the music. And that’s what music lovers want, don’t we? Enough of the critical [...]

Sennheiser HD497 Reviews

The Sennheiser HD497, the top model of Sennheiser’s StreeWear range, has a frequency response of 37-21,000Hz, an impedance of 32 ohms, and an SPL rating of 112 dB—all of which makes it a little short of being considered “audiophile material.” However, at  around $76 (list price), a typical media player-carrying commoner can enjoy a far [...]

Sennheiser MX400 Review

First on Headfile—an earphone review. The Sennheiser MX 400s are cheap replacements earbuds for your iPod or other portable media players. How cheap? Some go as low as $8.99.
Sennheiser is a popular and respectable brand so we figured, why not give one of their uber mass-produced consumer products a listen.
First things first, if you’re used [...]

Sennheiser RS120 Review

After researching Sony, RCA, and Sennheiser wireless headphones I settled on the Sennheiser RS-120’s and I have no regrets. These are excellent headphones. I ended up buying them at GoogGuys. When I asked the associate if I could try them he connected them to a DVD player and they came to life. I walked all [...]

Sennheiser HD555

The HD555s aren’t the best headphones I’ve ever heard – that accolade falls to some Beyerdynamic heavyweights that cost more than twice as much, but are darn good. Sennheiser’s claims about very low colouration and extended frequency response sound true to me. The 555s have clear but not overemphasized treble, no bad behavior in the [...]

Sennheiser HD595

Open, Circumaural, Audiophile headphones
The biggest difference between HD595 and its little bro is speed and clarity. While HD555 lacked the speed for rock, HD595 handles it very adequately. HD595 also sound much crisper and clearer. The bass is noticeably tighter and extend further. Again these are not for bassheads, they lack the punch.
The mids are [...]
